There are tornado warnings EVERYWHERE. I'm cooped up in my basement looking at dresses online, trying not to think about the end of days while the news keeps me updated in the background. I've found some beautiful things that are keeping me nicely distracted!
I finally discovered Trashy Diva, which sells some of the loveliest vintage-inspired dresses I've ever laid eyes on:
I'm hoping to contact this Etsy seller (whose head I creepily cropped out so as not to violate her privacy) for one or both of these vintage dresses, both under $40:
As much as I love looking at clothes, shopping of any sort comes with frustrations. Currently, I'm most fed up with how short most dresses are these days - so short that I SIMPLY CANNOT WEAR THEM. I am 5'9", which means that dresses 31"-34" in length are shirts on me. It seems that about 90% of dresses currently being sold online are that short. Please, just give me a few more inches, people! Shorter women can always hem them a bit if they so desire, but adding length is basically impossible. Until my pleas are heard, I can find solace in maxis and vintage.
And I can't wait to try on these flowery pieces at Marimekko when I go to Finland with my mom in a couple of weeks:
